Junior Buyer

We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our team in La Rousse Foods

Key Responsibilities:

To optimize the flow of products so as to fill all orders on time, resulting in maximum sales, whist ensuring all related costs are kept to a minimum.

1. Ordering: Process daily and weekly purchase order requirements through set of preferred vendors to ensure all orders are placed correctly, on time and in full

2. Stock management: Ensure stock (Fresh, Ambient, Frozen categories) is available to fulfil all customer orders, without excess.

3. Key performance indicators:

   1. Missed sales

   2. Wastes

4. Suppliers relationship:

• Negotiate best credit terms and prices (fully integrated – supplier & transport)

• Market awareness

• Build long term relationships with suppliers

Key competencies

• Good knowledge of the food distribution sector – fresh / frozen / dry goods.

• Strong Organizational and Planning skills.

• Ability to focus and prioritize tasks.

• Good Communicator – both internal and external

• Negotiation skills.

• Ability to work well under pressure.

Qualifications / Experience

• Education or experience in Procurement or Supply Chain is an advantage

• Proficient in Word and Excel

• A second language gives a distinct advantage
